    How an audit works

For universities and companies

Language learning and e-learning platform audits

We look at the platform, the materials and the marking through the eyes of a student and a teacher – before the results are used for course credit. You receive a report with area ratings, a register of findings and an action plan.

Area ratings

Example – illustrative data

On a scale of 1–5: 5 – ready to use without reservation; 3 – works, but needs fixes before a wider roll-out.

AreaRatingRationale
Stability and performance5 out of 5Courses, exercises and recordings open without delay, even on a slower connection.
Exercise marking3 out of 5Scores appear straight away, but feedback on mistakes is given only in some tasks.
Content and CEFR level3 out of 5Texts are linguistically correct; some modules are harder than their stated level.
Audio and video4 out of 5Recordings are clear; in beginner courses the pace is sometimes too fast.
Accessibility (WCAG)3 out of 5Good contrast and a clear layout; not every exercise can be completed with the keyboard alone.
Mobile version2 out of 5Drag-and-drop exercises are hard to complete on a small screen.

Severity levels

critical
blocks learning or is misleading
high
noticeably reduces quality
medium
inconsistency or methodological weakness
low
cosmetic

Sample finding

Example – illustrative data

highF1

Text difficulty does not match the module’s CEFR label

In some lessons of a B1 module, the texts and vocabulary are at B2 level. Students come across harder material than the course description suggests, and their exercise scores understate their real level.

Recommendation: check the level of the module’s texts (for example against a CEFR vocabulary profile), then either simplify them or move the module to the appropriate level.

How we work

  1. Automated consistency checks across all course content.
  2. A full read-through of the courses, with a severity rating and a recommendation for every issue.
  3. Verification of key findings directly on the platform, using a student account and, with your consent, a teacher account.

We use automated tools and AI; every finding that affects the conclusions is confirmed manually.

What the audit covers

  • Functionality and navigation
  • Exercises and marking
  • Lesson content: accuracy, CEFR level, clarity
  • Vocabulary and flashcards
  • Audio and video
  • Accessibility (WCAG), mobile, performance
  • The teacher’s perspective
  • How learning is organised: level testing, hours, groups, exams

What you receive

  • A summary for university or company leadership
  • Area ratings on a 1–5 scale
  • Key findings with examples
  • A register of all findings with location and recommendation
  • A staged action plan: before results are used for course credit, during the semester and in the longer term
