Cambridge: FCE, CAE, CPE

The most common Cambridge exams are FCE, CAE and CPE. They check the level of English proficiency from Intermediate B1 to C2 level. They are aimed at people who need to document their language skills in order to work or study in countries where English is widely spoken. They are honoured worldwide and widely recognized in Poland.

TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language

This is a cross-sectional test of proficiency in English in an academic context using 4 language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. The TOEFL iBT is web-based and includes an oral Speaking section that is recorded and evaluated online. The TOEFL is a prerequisite for admission to most English-speaking universities in the world (e.g. USA, Canada, UK, EU countries). TOEFL scores are recognized as a confirmation of the candidate’s language level by international and governmental institutions and scholarship programs.

IELTS – International English Language Testing System

It is an internationally recognized test that assesses the English language skills necessary to study or work in countries where English is the language of communication. Used as a test of the ability to communicate in English by educational, government and professional institutions in more than 120 countries around the world. IELTS examines the language used not only in the office or academic environment but also in everyday life and is available in two versions: Academic and General Training.

EFB – English for Business (LCCI)

Practical business exam on 4 levels from A2 to C1, examining the ability to communicate in a professional environment in the world of commerce, industry and business. LCCI certification is the so-called “passport to employment” – it is recognized in Poland and other EU countries by employers, commercial and financial institutions, consultancy companies etc. as proof of Business English proficiency.

TOLES – Test of Legal English Skills

Professional English exam designed for lawyers, legal professionals, translators and law students. Conducted on 3 levels: Foundation, Higher and Advanced. It confirms the level of knowledge of the formal language and current legal terminology.

GMAT – Graduate Management Admission Test

This is a specialized exam in English, delivered alongside the TOEFL test to qualify for postgraduate English studies in business and management, in particular MBA programs. Examines cross-sectional knowledge of secondary and tertiary education in mathematics, logic and analytical thinking.

Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)

TOEIC is an international English language test that examines English in a work environment.

Test questions are based on authentic statements and language forms used in professional situations such as meetings, reports, telephone conversations, travel, and bank visits.

TOEIC scores are recognized as confirmation of the candidate’s level and language qualification by international and governmental institutions and scholarship programs.
